ICT FP7 call 8: Objective ICT-2011.3.5: Core and Disruptive Photonic Technologies
- Call Identifier: FP7-ICT-2011-8
- Call opened: 20 July 2011 // Call closes: 17 January 2012 at 17:00:00 (Brussels local time)

Specificities of the call
- Remote Reading: The first stage of the evaluation (individual evaluation) will be carried out on the premises of the experts concerned (remotely).
- Pre-proposal check: The Commission offers the facility to allow proposers to check on the appropriateness of their proposed action and the eligibility of the proposal consortium. Although this pre-proposal assessment service is entirely optional it is highly recommended to use it. Any proposal can always be submitted directly to the call without a preproposal check. The form to request this service is provided in 'Annex 6 of the Guide for Applicants'. This form were to be submitted to infso-photonics@ec.europa.eu at any time up to three weeks before the closing of the call. The advice given by the Commission is strictly informal, non-binding and does not in any way engage the Commission with respect to acceptance or rejection of the proposal when it is formally submitted at the a later stage. The evaluators who will later evaluate your proposal are not informed of the pre-proposal check and the responses given. Please note that the pre-proposal service is not intended to assist with the identification of possible partners for your consortium.
- Proposal size limitation: Please keep to maximum page lengths where these are specified in the Guide for Applicants. The Commission may instruct the experts to disregard any excess pages. Even where no page limits are given, or where limits are only recommended, it is in your interest to keep your text concise since over-long proposals are rarely viewed in a positive light by the evaluating experts.
- Useful advise: When preparing a proposal, always position the proposal's objectives with respect to the research objectives and the impact defined in the Work-programme! and we are strongly encourage you to respect the size of the proposals as defined in the guide for applicants.
