Threats on the Internet - October 2006
The seminar was organized by INFSO D4 - ICT Trust and Security in Brussels, Belgium with a small number of international experts in the field of security on the Internet. The seminar brought to the table discussions related to the situation and trends in mal-ware, spy-ware and other forms of cyber crime on the Internet and mobile networks. The ICT-PSP Workprogramme 2007 included promotion of privacy protection infrastructures. The PrivacyOS thematic network project on this has started at 01 June 2008. The factsheet of the project is available here.
- FP7 Security Theme
The objectives of the Security theme within the 7 th Framework Programme are:
- to develop technologies and knowledge needed to ensure the security of citizens from threats such as terrorism and (organised) crime, natural disasters and industrial accidents while respecting fundamental human rights;
- to ensure optimal and concerted use of available and evolving technologies to the benefit of civil European security;
- to stimulate the cooperation of providers and users for civil security solutions; improving the competitiveness of the European security industry and delivering mission-oriented results to reduce security gaps.
