01.10.2008 - PRIME project receives the 2008 HP-IAPP Privacy Innovation Technology Award!
We are very happy to announce that the IST-FP6 project PRIME has received the 2008 HP-IAPP award in the category ‘Privacy Innovation Technology’. The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) is the world's largest association of privacy professionals. PRIME was selected among 15 competing nominations in this category. The announcement states “…European Union Programs Recognized by International Association of Privacy Professionals” and particularly about PRIME it points out “…a highly innovative technology program architecture that governs access control, data retention and policy elements”. 08.04.2008 - Viviane Reding announces the RISEPTIS Advisory Board
Viviane Reding, Commissioner for Information Society and Media, European Commission announced the creation of a high-level advisory board named RISEPTIS (Research and Innovation for SEcurity, Privacy and Trustworthiness in the Information Society). The main mission of RISEPTIS will be to provide visionary guidance on policy and research challenges in the field of security and trust in the Information Society. RISEPTIS is supported by the FP7 Coordination Action Think-Trust.

01.10.2008 - Brochure on ICT Security Research in FP7
New brochure is available about ICT Security Research in FP7 containing research activities in secure and trustworthy network infrastructures; in critical information infrastructure protection; in enabling technologies for security and trustworthiness of ICT; in trustworthy and secure service infrastructures; in trust, privacy and identity in the digital economy; as well as the policy links and other useful information.

16.07.2008 - Paulo Sousa from the ICT-FP6 Crutial team was distinguished with the IBM Portugal 2007 Scientific Award for his work on "Security and Availability through Proactive Resilience".
These results also inspired parts of the CRUTIAL project architecture and protocols.
23.04.2008 - Engineering Secure Software Systems
Report from a consultation meeting on held by INFSO-F5 in Brussels, in the context of the preparation of the preparation of the ICT work programme 2009-2010.

28.04.2008 - Payment security is key to improving consumer confidence in new payment services, says Commission report
The European Commission has published a report on the actions undertaken on prevention of payment fraud between 2004 and 2007 following an Action Plan on this matter. This report shows that the security of means of payment and payment systems is a necessary condition for improving consumer confidence and trust in new payment services. The report has been desclosed here.

02.2008 - “Analysing  Barriers and Incentives for Network and Information Security in the Internal Market for e-Communication”.
ENISA commissioned a study identifying barriers and incentives for NIS. The overarching aim of the report is to analyse the economic impact of NIS, to assess added value and contribution to the smooth functioning of the Internal Market for e-communication. ENISA would be grateful to have stakeholders’ views on the report and its recommendations by: 30 April 2008.
