ICT and educational policies
Funding ICT research for technology-enhanced learning is also an essential contribution to educational policy, namely to the action area 'Enhancing digital literacy, skills and inclusion' of the Digital Agenda for Europe (Action 68).
Other related initiatives
Besides the ICT Programme, there are a number of other initiatives and programmes which support e-learning or education and training in general.
- ICT Policy Support Programme as part of the Competitiveness and Innovation framework Programme (CIP). It aims at stimulating innovation and competitiveness through the wider uptake and best use of ICT by citizens, governments and businesses.
- The Lifelong Learning Programme covers the period 2007-2013, and is the successor to the Socrates, Leonardo da Vinci and eLearning programmes. It has a budget of € 6 970 million to support projects and activities that foster interchange, cooperation and mobility between education and training systems within the EU.
