ECCREDI/TRA 2nd Special Workshop - Opportunities for the Construction Industry under FP5 (2nd call)
To encourage the submission of proposals by the European construction industry, ECCREDI and its TRA Network are organising a 5FP proposals workshop in association with the EC. Presentations by Officials of the European Commission's Research Directorate-General will feature on the results and lessons to learn from the 1st call and explain the new priorities and opportunities for the construction sector under the 2nd call. The event will further provide a platform for establishing contacts and discussing proposals with other key players in the field of construction research. In particular, for the KA "Innovative products, processes and organisation" of the Thematic Programme GROWTH (deadline fixed in March 2000), assistance will be given to potential proposers in order to ensure high quality proposals fitting the selection criteria for the 2nd call. Another important KA for the construction sector is undoubtedly the "City of Tomorrow and Cultural Heritage", which closes on 15th February. Though proposals will be in the final stage of preparation for this call, proposers will be given the opportunity to fine-tune their ideas, to look for missing partners or to make good plans for future calls. Last but not least, it should be noted that SMEs are important players in the Construction Industry scenery. One of ECCREDI's concerns is indeed to promote the involvement of SMEs in research activities. As such, the workshop also seeks to explain criteria for submitting proposals under the SME scheme (CRAFT,..) and to stimulate the interests of SMEs in FP5.
