Marie Curie Fellowships - Workshops
Marie Curie Fellowships
Scientific Workshops
The scientific workshops have been running since 1999. The purpose of these workshops is to complement the usual monitoring of contracts by an assessment of the scientific content and to encourage communication and interaction between fellows.
These meetings provide the forum for scientific discussions between fellows, between fellows and scientists as well as between the scientific community and the European Commission. A main feature is the presentation of individual work in progress.
An important theme is inter-disciplinary research. Fellows are working in different groups, laboratories and institutes and the research activities address a wide variety of scientific problems.
Marie Curie Scientific Workshop, Paris, 12-14 March 2003
A special event will be organised in Paris as part of the Marie Curie Scientific workshop series, on 12-14 March 2003. It will target young researchers working in France who have been awarded a Marie Curie Fellowship. The researchers will have the opportunity to meet experienced researchers, managers, strategy and policy makers and to be aware on future training opportunities, careers and professions related to the new needs of society. The main objective of this workshop is to alert researchers and key players in the different research disciplines to the needs of society for science in the European Research Area. Emphasis will be placed on:
- New challenges in the knowledge-based economy; - Women and research challenges - Linking basic research with the needs of the society - Academia-Industry collaborations - New research initiatives and the 6th Research Framework Programme; - Management of science and research projects; - Development of new skills and strategies;
On-line inscription facility is available at the following web site: http://www.marie-curie-workshop-paris.org/home.cfm
