Social and psychological factors in conflict and its resolution: The Mid-Eastern and European Experience

This meeting was a joint venture of two universities: Tel Aviv University (the Center of Diplomacy and Regional Cooperation) and Al-Quds University (I ssam Sartawi Center for Peace Studies ). The purpose of the meeting was to explore the effects of social and psychological factors in conflict resolution. The meeting considered these processes as they are reflected in the middle-eastern and European experience. Accordingly, the participants were academics from relevant disciplines whose specialization relates to this field. The nature of the meeting was not political and its purpose was not to discus political solutions to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, nor to engage in track-two diplomacy.
