Science and technologies - STRATA - Consolidating workshop
Science and Technology Policies STRATA
Proceedings and final reports of the STRATA Consolidating workshop "Science and technology policies in Europe: new challenges, new responses" Brussels, 22-23 April 2002
After three years of implementation, STRATA has funded and is funding 28 thematic networks and accompanying measures which constitute the current "STRATA project portfolio".
In order to cluster those projects around the five STRATA common themes, the Science & Technology Foresight Unit K2 decided to organise, in Brussels on the 22nd and 23rd of April 2002, a STRATA consolidating workshop on the theme "New challenges and new responses for Science and Technology policies in Europe".
The main scope of this workshop, articulated around five main clustering areas, was to provide the Commission with a new vision of the "S&T policies" landscape in Europe, with an emphasis on emerging issues to be addressed for future EU R&D policies programmes and the future responses to cope with the new emerging challenges. The different co-ordinators of the STRATA projects, external experts and EC policy-"shapers" were all invited to take part to a constructive debate.
