Abstract:
The Trend Chart on Innovation in Europe provides policy-makers and managers of innovation support schemes with summarised information and statistics on innovation policies, performance and trends in the EU. It should also become the basis of the European forum for benchmarking and exchange of good practices.
The 1999 data provide a picture of Member States current policies and policy trends. Three themes stand out as ongoing priorities: strengthening the research carried out by companies; improving innovation financing; and promoting technology absorption and innovation management by SMEs.
