About ISERD

ISERD - The Israeli Directorate for EU FP7 - aims at promoting joint Israeli-EU R&D ventures within the EU's R&D Framework Programme. At the level of the EU, the Framework Programme, is the main instrument for research funding in Europe, bringing together industries and academic research.

ISERD operating through the Office of the Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor, is Israel's official Israel in FP (NCP) with the EU, for all the activities of FP7.

ISERD's representatives participate in the FP's management committees.

THE WORLD WIDE SUCCESS of Israeli high-tech and R&D has now come of age within the European R&D FP5. Over 3000 Israeli participations have been submitted within its various programmes. The result is nearly 800 successful Israeli participations with a total value of projects reaching 2 billion Euro. These projects enable Israeli entities to cooperate in technological development with European industries, research institutions and universities, and to showcase Israeli abilities, often in collaboration with leading European multinational co-operations.

• Actively assists academic and industrial entities in preparing and submitting their EU-RTD program proposals.
• Provides help identifying various partners and business opportunities.
• Offers assistance, training and consulting services to interested parties.
• Works on information dissemination and raising awareness within Israel.
• Organizes events such as training sessions, seminars, conferences and newsletters.

ISERD is an inter-ministerial directorate, established by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Planning and Budgeting Committee of the Council for Higher Education, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
