Expression of Interest (EoI) for a seat on the Artemis Steering Board
This call for expression of interest closed on 10th February 2005.
The current composition of the Steering Board is given here. Following the Steering Board meeting held on 17th November 2004, two industry seats for companies and two academic seats for research centres or universities will be filled by selection from a list of candidates that respond to this call.
The EoI should include a clear High Level (corporate board member or equivalent, or senior academic) commitment by the organisation to:
- Sign the Building Artemis Report (PDF, 1.463KB) by the High Level Group
- Adopt the Terms of Reference and Rules of Procedure (PDF, 83KB) of the Platform
- Share in the operational costs of the Platform Office (for industrial applicants only - see section 8 of the ToR)
As individuals, Steering Board Members should be of sufficient international standing and key actors in embedded systems or related application areas. In representing their organisation, they will take into account the wider interest of the embedded systems domain in the European Research Area. Members will be able to provide substantial advice and be in a position to influence stakeholders in planning RTD programmes, fostering partnerships and leveraging resources.
The selection will be made on the basis of the following four criteria:
- Sectoral and technological balance of the Steering Board
- Importance of the organisation for attaining the objectives of ARTEMIS
- Standing of the individual proposed
- National balance for European added value
The Rules of Procedure for the Steering Board include provisions for rotation and replacement of its members. Applicants that are not selected may be retained on a reserve list and be reconsidered should an opportunity arise. They may also be invited to participate in the Artemis activities such as the Annual Conference and contribute to the Working Groups.
How to Apply
The application should include an overview of the organisation's activities in embedded systems, its motivation for participating in Artemis, the High Level commitment mentioned above, as well as a short CV of the person from the organisation suggested as a member of the Steering Board.
