Humanitarian Demining
Humanitarian Demining is now part of Unit C5 'Transport and Environment' Specific Objective "Risk Management"
Objectives
The work aims at new, and enhancements of existing, IST solutions to improve significantly and at affordable costs the speed, safety and efficiency of humanitarian de-mining (e.g. surveying, detection, clearance and post clearance) by investigating the most promising emerging sensor technologies relevant to the needs of humanitarian demining. Particular focus is placed on integrated multi-sensor solutions, strengthened by data fusion, machine learning techniques and adequate communications technologies.
