Mobile Service Platforms (MSP) Cluster

Scope
- The cluster covers all work providing elements of platforms which facilitate the development and deployment of mobile services. This includes definition, creation, and delivery of services, and provision of environments supporting their execution.
- Membership of the cluster is open to IST Framework Programme projects contributing to this area, but co-operation with other types of projects and activities can form part of the work.
Objectives
- To provide a forum to facilitate knowledge sharing on all aspects of B3G service platform technologies
- To leverage on the work being done in the projects, in order to maximise the effect of the efforts being carried out
- To identify the key topics relevant to the area, and use this to:
- Sketch a consolidated picture;
- Assess the extent to which individual topics are covered in the projects in the cluster;
- Identify areas of overlap, or "holes" in coverage.
- Achieve a mutual understanding between the projects about the technical approaches they are developing
- Promote horizontal actions within the cluster to enhance collaboration between the projects
Deliverables
- Periodic MSP Cluster Reports providing a consolidated view of the results of IST research activities in the area covered by the cluster
- Recommendations to the European Commission and other fora (e.g. WWRF, e-mobility platform) concerning service platform issues that should be included on relevant research agendas or research plans
