Preparation of the 7th Framework Programme - Exploratory Workshops related to "ICT for Sustainable Growth"
- 21-24 March 2006, Brussels, Belgium
DG INFSO & Media (Unit G5, "ICT for Sustainable Growth") has organised a series of four exploratory workshops in Brussels from 21 to 24 March 2006, as part of a consultation exercise in view of the preparation of the 7th Framework Programme (FP7, 2007-2013). Representatives from industry and academia in Europe met to discuss and contribute ideas for future ICT research in support of the environment and more widely sustainable growth. Participants documented a set of concrete recommendations for a possible FP7 research agenda aimed at supporting the development and take-up of generic ICT tools for integrated applications of European or global interest. The symbolic horizon of 2020 was chosen as the main target for research impacting socio-economic spheres.
