Welcome to the section of the IST Web site dedicated to EU-funded R&D activities in the area of "New Working Environments". The Web pages - which are maintained by Unit F4 of DG Information Society and Media, the European Commission team responsible for overseeing these EU-funded R&D activities - provide a gateway to extensive and up to date information on EU research in New Working Environments.
The unit New Working Environments manages research projects in information technology and contributes to policy developments in new working environments designs and organisation of work in the networked knowledge-based economy.
It incorporates innovation to facilitate creativity and collaboration, to resource-use efficiency, value-creation and extended work opportunities for all.
The unit focuses on the areas:
- eProfessions and individually driven working;
- new workplace designs;
- knowledge management in media-rich working environments, including mobility and multimodality;
