    The QIPC day on Wednesday 5 March 2008 is dedicated to the memory of Antonella Karlson.

  • QIPC 2007 - International Conference on Quantum Information Processing and Communication
    October 15-19, 2007, Barcelona (ES)
    It is organized by the FET CA QUROPE in collaboration with the FET QIPC Proactive Initiative. The conference aims at covering all scientific activity in Quantum Information Science, with a clear inter-disciplinary approach. This ranges from theoretical aspects on Computer Science and Theoretical Physics to Experimental activity, as well as the connection between Quantum Information Science and other scientific fields, such as Quantum Optics or Condensed Matter.

  • 2006 US - Japan Workshop on Quantum Information Science, 16-20 October 2006 - Maui (Hawaii)
    The proposed workshop aims to exchange opinions and foster cooperation between governmental agencies and researchers in the field of Quantum Information Processing and Communication (QIPC). The workshop will also compare current regional research activities by inviting the major funding agents and leading scientists around the world. The workshop will be held in a closed form by the invitation only. Six leading European QIPC scientists are invited to talk about their research activities. The coordinator of the FET QIPC proactive initiative, Dr. Antonella Karlson is invited to talk about the initiative.

  • 7th European QIPC Workshop - Physics and Computer Science united for QIPC
    13-14 October 2006 - London (UK)

      This is the annual workshop organized by the FET proactive initiative in the field of Quantum Information Processing and Communication (QIPC). This year it will be held in the Royal Society in London. About 200 participants are expected from around Europe. A number of speakers and researchers are expected from the US. This year the workshop is dedicated to quantum information science. In addition to the scientific talks, one half day will be devoted to the activities of the FET QIPC proactive initiative. The coordinator Dr. Antonella Karlson will organize a special session on the strategy and planning of the initiative and issues related to the QIPC roadmap. The three currently active integrated projects will present their results. There will be a kick off meeting of the coordination action project QUROPE.

    It is with a deep sadness and regret that we notify the loss of
    our colleague Antonella Karlson who passed away on Saturday 9 February 2008.
    We have lost a highly valued colleague and friend
    and she will be greatly missed by all of us.
