Health (insurance) cards links
- eEurope2005 Electronic health cards proposed action: the Commission intends to support a common approach to patient identifiers and electronic health record architecture through standardisation and will support the exchange of good practices on possible additional functionalities, such as medical emergency data and secure access to personal health information. The remaining two proposed actions deal with health information networks and online health services, both of which highly dependent upon interoperability standards.
- eHealth conference (Brussels, May 22-23, 2003), Ministers from Member States have expressed in an official declaration (PDF) the need to support “actions to address the development of standards addressing interoperability of diverse systems and services and to especially explore the possibilities of open source applications to achieve this objective”
