The breakdown of retained proposals includes projects in the fields of health, road safety, internet security and mobile wireless systems. These projects were selected from those submitted in response to the fourth Call for Proposals for Information Society Technology research under the EU’s Sixth Research Framework Programme. Roughly 15% of this funding (€ 151 million) will co-finance research on mobile and wireless systems, aiming inter alia to protect communication systems and personal data against cyber-crime. The overall goal is to ensure European leadership in generic and applied technologies at the heart of the knowledge economy.

More information will be available after the signature of the Contracts.
