Calls for Proposals

Fixed Deadline Calls

As described in the Programme, a Fixed Deadline Call for Proposals required project applications to be submitted according to a fixed schedule. The domain was included in several calls of such a type during the 5th Framework Programme (IST calls 1, 4, 6 and 8).

1999
The first IST Call was launched and included the Action Line "I.3.1 Systems and services for independent living" for the sector.

2000
IST Call 4 was also of concern to the sector: in addition to the Action Line "I.2.1 Intelligent assistive systems and interfaces to compensate for functional impairments" for 2000, the 1999 Action Line was still available to compensate for its limited success.

2001
The Action Line for the Special Needs sector was: "I.2.1 Intelligent assistive systems for social inclusion". IST Call 6 included this Action Line.

The Action Line for the sector was "I.2.1 Systems for independent living". It was included within the 8th IST Call.

Continuous Submission Schemes

Proposals were also accepted under the continuous submission scheme for Support Measures and Grant Applications (partial support for Conferences, Workshops, Seminars and Exhibitions).

Calls for Proposals with activities in linked domains

Inside IST, the Cross Programme Actions (CPAs) had their own Action Lines which were sometime including related topics, e.g. the CPA-3(1999) "Design for All" and the CPA for "Smart Cards".

At the FP5 level, the SME related Programme, with its Exploratory Awards and CRAFT Projects possibilities, and the Key Actions or Generic Activities related to the disabled or elderly People in the Quality of Life Programme, also had their own Calls.
