First Status Reports (May 2002)

The main outcomes of this first evaluation are:

  • The vast majority of Member States have now created national coordination groups, some extending beyond cultural institutions in to national eGovernment and/or eEurope policy groups.
  • There is an increasing importance of benchmarking as a means for measuring progress of digitisation programmes and projects.
  • There are still questions concerning the extent to which the Terms of Reference are adopted in the Member States.
  • The decision to prepare a anotherprogress/status report under the Danish Presidency with all Member States participatinghas been taken. The next NRG meeting will take place in Copenhagen on 10-11 December 2002 under Danish Presidency.
  • A majorpriority for the next 6 months will be the quality of cultural content on the Web.
