The main outcomes of this first evaluation are:
- The vast majority of Member States have now created national coordination groups, some extending beyond cultural institutions in to national eGovernment and/or eEurope policy groups.
- There is an increasing importance of benchmarking as a means for measuring progress of digitisation programmes and projects.
- There are still questions concerning the extent to which the Terms of Reference are adopted in the Member States.
- The decision to prepare a anotherprogress/status report under the Danish Presidency with all Member States participatinghas been taken. The next NRG meeting will take place in Copenhagen on 10-11 December 2002 under Danish Presidency.
- A majorpriority for the next 6 months will be the quality of cultural content on the Web.
