This workshop had the objective of establishing cooperation between Russian and European companies, by stimulating participation of C.I.S. companies in the EU IST programme. Concrete examples have been provided by representatives of IST projects operating in the area of Mobile Communications who presented their latest findings and their projects organisation.
Opportunities remain open for entities interested in research on Mobile Communications all over the wide Europe to establish first contact and finding modalities for collaboration under the umbrella of the Information Society Program of the European Commission.

This workshop was held in the framework of the 6th Business Forum (conference and exhibition) "MOBILE SYSTEMS 2001", Moscow, 26-30 March 2001, which is the annual meeting of professionals, businessmen and officials in charge of mobile communications developments in Russia and other C.I.S. countries.
