What is a cluster?
Research work carried out under the IST Programme can be built around clusters of projects in specific technical areas. These clusters are a logical grouping of projects encouraged to co-operate together for their mutual benefit, and to improve the performance of the individual projects through value-adding interaction with other projects, participants and stakeholders in the domain.
In the domain of 'Interfaces, Simulation and Visualisation Technologies' the following three clusters are in operation:
