WWW 2008 - The 17th International World Wide Web Conference

The World Wide Web Conference is a global event bringing together key researchers, innovators, decision-makers, technologists, business, and standards bodies working to shape the Web. The main theme of the conference is 'One World, One Web'. The conference will explore how Web access is moving from the desktop to cell phones and TV screens, and how most users are moving from passive browsing experiences on the Internet to active participation in building Web communities.

WIAMIS 2008 - The 9th International Workshop on Image for Multimedia Interactive Services

WIAMIS is one of the main international fora for the presentation and discussion of the latest technological advances in interactive multimedia services. The objective of the workshop is to bring together researchers and developers from academia and industry working in all areas of image, video and audio applications, with a special focus on analysis. The IST project RUSHES is organising a special session dedicated to the challenges on multi-media indexing and retrieval of un-edited audio-visual footage.

IST Africa 2008 - The 3rd Annual Conference

The event will bring together delegates from leading commercial, government & research organisations across Africa and from Europe, to bridge the Digital Divide by sharing knowledge, experience, lessons learnt and good practice. It will focus on Applied ICT research topics addressing major societal and economic challenges. FLAIRS 2008 - The 21st International Florida Artificial Intelligence Research Society Conference

FLAIRS-21 will feature technical papers, special tracks, and invited speakers. The special track: Logics, General Ontologies, Categorization and Semantic Annotation is intended to put together four subfields of IA: logics, ontologies, categorization and text annotation. COMMA'08 - The second International Conference on Computational Models of Arguments

Reasoning Web 2008 – The fourth REWERSE Summer School

This REWERSE event will be held after the end of the IST project REWERSE. The focus will be on the actual use of Semantic Web rule languages in the Reasoning on the Web application fields such as Bioinformatics, Web Services, Multimedia, and Natural Language Processing. It will point out which Semantic Web ideas and techniques have actually been adopted so far, which were not (and why), and which application needs are still waiting to be tackled with semantic techniques. The Summer School addresses graduate students in Computer Science, and researchers in academia and industry interested in Semantic Web topics. Furthermore, there are already concrete plans to hold “Reasoning Web 2009” in Bozen-Bolzano in September 2009.
