The objective is to address key issues that are of concern across the region, such as the improvement of public services, institutional reinforcement, decision making and democratic processes. The action should enable public administration in W. Balkans to reach a higher productivity and equity, i.e. to serve all citizens while being responsive to individuals' needs, and to increase active citizen participation on the basis of innovative, secure and open ICT.
Services concerned include eCustoms to facilitate trade, administrative transparency and efficiency within the region and with the EU; eJustice to help courts across the region to cooperate and address cross-border cases more efficiently and effectively; ePublic Procurement to enable transparent and efficient procedures, facilitating at the same time the participation of SMEs; eDemocracy and eParticipation concentrating on new forms of interactions between policy-makers and stakeholders (citizens, interest groups, NGOs, etc).
The Strategic Objective 'International cooperation for eGovernment and eParticipation' is included within Call 6 of the IST priority.
