The IHP Programme: Improving the human research potential and socio-economic knowledge base
|
Socio-economic research can be funded by both the thematic programmes, as well as by the Key Action on "Improving the Socio-Economic Knowledge Base" of the horizontal programme "Improving the human research potential and the socio-economic knowledge base". Taking into account the philosophy of the 5th Framework Programme, socio-economic research is present in the thematic programmes as an integral part of the technological research activities.
Specific measures will be taken by the horizontal programme to ensure co-ordination of the socio-economic research to be implemented within the current programme. The horizontal programme will draw up an annual report on socio-economic research in the 5th Framework Programme (/improving/home.html). The work in the IST Programme will contribute in a consolidated form to this annual report on socio-economic research. Information exchange between projects will be facilitated by a series of concertation workshops on specific themes related to EU policy priorities. In 2001, priority will be given to activities which can contribute in various ways to the eEurope Action Plan.
