ICT Call 1 is published! The Objective 1.4, 'Secure, dependable and trusted infrastructures' is part of Challenge 1.


IST 2006, Helsinki

The most important European event in the field of Information Society Technologies coincided with the launch of the EU's Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Development.

Our session on 'Secure, Dependable and Trusted Infrastructures' attracted more than 300 attendants. The program included:

Our projects and constituency organised 6 networking and workshop sessions at this year's IST event ? IST 2006 ? each dealing with specific topics in our area:

  1. Security, Dependability and Trust in pervasive networks and services: Towards a Roadmap 2007-2013
    (proposed by SecurIST)
  2. Bringing Together the European Stakeholders for Secure Service and Software Engineering
    (proposed by ESFORS)
  3. Business Models and Identity
    (jointly proposed by FIDIS, Open TC, PRIME)
  4. Crypto: next steps and challenges
    (proposed by ECRYPT)
  5. New perspectives in Biometrics research and beyond
    (proposed by BIOSECURE )
  6. Resilient infrastructures and information fusion for security
    (jointly proposed by CI2RCO, CRUTIAL, GRID, HIDENETS, IRRIIS, RESIST, SecurIST).

 

In parallel to the conference there were be a number of project information stands in the IST 2006 exhibition ? amongst others: Humabio, Positif, SecurePhone.


Security, dependability and trust in ICT-FP7

An early overview of the area of security, dependability and trust in FP7 can be found in the article: Building Trust and Security in Information Society .

In order to best prepare the ICT-FP7 Work programme in the area of security, dependability and trust, a number of seminars and consultation meetings have taken place during 2005 and the first half of 2006:

  1. Seminar "Trust in the Net", High level International research seminar under the Austrian Presidency - Vienna 8-9 February 2006
  2. Workshop on “Software, Grid, Security and Dependability”, held in Brussels on 22nd June 2005
  3. Workshop on “Security and dependability of Software and Services Infrastructures”, held in Brussels on 8th December 2005
  4. Workshop on “ICT for Trust and Confidence”, held in Brussels on 24th January 2006

 

The Commission has also considered the input of European Technology Platforms (ETPs)

 

 

Other information can be obtained in FP7 position papers, which have played a role in the ICT-FP7 work programme development
