Four years after its launch, the European Trend Chart on Innovation moved into its second phase at the beginning of this year. As officials and experts from the participating states met to take stock of progress at the end of the first phase, one of the subjects most discussed was that of target-setting and measuring progress. With the Trend Chart firmly established as a tool to help policy-makers learn from one another, the next step is to help them assess the impact of their policies. |

A new Innovation Policy Study looks at how regulators can take greater account of the need for innovation in their work. |
