CREATING A EUROPEAN LIBRARY SPACE
This site provides core information on the work carried out by the European Commission in the libraries field under the Third and Fourth Framework Programmes for Research and Technological Development, Telematics for Libraries, from 1990 to 1998. While we are still supporting a considerable number of projects under the Fourth Framework Programme, we are already working under the Fifth Framework Programme (1998-2002), where libraries are principally involved in the Multimedia Content and Tools area of the User-friendly Information Society Programme (IST Programme).
Very active during the previous programmes, this site is now static except for updates to the on-going project synopses. Some sections have been edited in order to provide an overview of the work carried out and sections which contained only links have been deleted, as these pages will no longer be updated.
