Joint Activity in NEUROINFORMATICS
The Quality of Life programme, Generic Activities-Neuroscience, and the IST programme, Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) -proactive initiative on Neuroinformatics, have launched a joint activity in the domain of Neuroinformatics. This is a unique opportunity to bring together researchers with the aim of exploring new synergies between Neurosciences and Information Technology. The implementation of both domains will be done in close collaboration.
A joint workshop was held 14-15 June 1999 organized by the two programmes. During the workshop "Beyond the Made and the Born", essential issues in the domain of Neuroinformatics were tackled and a report was written. A brainstorming meeting was held 7-8 February 2000, which gave rise to 6 individual position papers. We invite you to read the report and the position papers, which reflect different, all valid, views on the content of this initiative.
An information day will be held 9 June 2000 in Brussels.
