COGENE is an FP5 strategic accompanying measure aimed at promoting the development of synergies between national genome research programmes in Europe. It provides operational support to a Forum of Genome Programme Managers with representatives from 24 European countries, and is conducting a survey on the current status of genome research in the European Union.

COGENE Website : A communication platform for national funding agencies, and an information/discussion platform for researchers and the public.
