Innovation and the Participation of SMEs.

The Lisbon European Council of March 2000 set the ambitious objective for Europe to become "the most competitive and dynamic knowledge-based economy in the world"…… In the light of which the FP6 programme, including this priority, is placing an increased emphasis on innovation and the participation of small and medium-sized business enterprises with less than 250 employees (SMEs).
