How to apply?

EXC grants are open to deserving researchers from any country in the world. Prospective chair holders apply together with their host organisations - universities, research centres, or firms carrying out R&D - to the Commission directly for funding. Host organisations must be established in an EU Member State, Associated State or Candidate Country.

A call for proposals was published on 20 July 2005 with a deadline of 25 January 2006.

This will be the last call for this action under the Sixth Framework Programme.

General information describing this action and the specific eligibility criteria in detail is available from the Marie Curie site on the Europa server and more specifically in the following documents:

Proposals for this action should be made jointly by a host institution (e.g. a university, a research centre, an enterprise active in R&D etc. ) and a researcher who will be the chair holder.

In order to prepare a proposal you need to go to the relevant CORDIS call page and download the Guide for Proposers.

Further advice and assistance can be obtained from your National Contact Point. (In 'NCP field' select "Mobility"), and from the EURAXESS Services, the European Network of Service Centres.
