Marie Curie International Reintegration Grants (IRG)

illustration of the action

These are individual grants which are aimed at researchers from the EU and Associated States who have carried out research outside Europe for at least 5 years and who wish to return to Europe. The action aims to reinforce the attractiveness of Europe by encouraging European researchers to return to a Member State or an Associated State in order to contribute to European research and to transfer the knowledge they acquired in the third country. The grant is for a duration of up to two years while the host institution will have to undertake to engage the researcher for at least three years in total.

The project undertaken can, amongst other things, address research activities, training, teaching, transfer of knowledge, commercial exploitation, diffusion, development of co-operation with the scientific and/or industrial sector of the third country from which the researcher is returning.
