Calls
Financial support for research is made available chiefly through calls for proposals, which are issued for each specific programme of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).
FP7 is divided into four programmes - 'Cooperation', 'Ideas', 'People' and 'Capacities':
- 'Cooperation' supports research cooperation in a number of key thematic areas, addressing specific sectors such as life sciences, information and communication technologies and food quality and safety research.
- 'Ideas' funds investigator-driven research through the European Research Council (ERC).
- 'People' supports training and researcher career development.
- 'Capacities' funds the coordination and development of research infrastructure, regional research clusters, international cooperation and closer ties between science and society.
Each of the four areas has a work programme which contains a roadmap of upcoming calls for proposals. Each new call is announced in the EU Official Journal and then published on CORDIS.
Additional calls for tender are published in TED (Tenders Electronic Daily), a supplement to the Official Journal.
The latest information and other details on calls for tender and proposals from FP7 and other EU-related entities can be found in CORDIS News.
