Thematic specials and a new section on the website complement service portfolio
The European Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Helpdesk has started this New Year 2016 with two fresh features on the website: From now on the team will regularly provide users with so-called “IP Specials” that will take a closer look at IP issues in a particular business sector or European Member State. Those thematic packages may include for instance interviews, case studies or fact sheets. The new series has been kicked off with a special on "IP in the Bio-Sector" (

Additionally, the Helpdesk has opened a new section on their website called “IP and Innovation in the Spotlight” ( offering articles, interviews, success stories, Helpline cases as well as news from the team and the world of IP in an online magazine way.

Both new formats aim to give users additional access to the broad range of IP-related content that the European IPR Helpdesk team constantly develops. Any comments or suggestions related to topics users would like to have covered in either of these formats are highly welcome.

About the European IPR Helpdesk

The European IPR Helpdesk, funded under the Horizon 2020 programme (Grant Agreement No 641474), is a service initiative that supports cross-border SME and research activities to manage, diffuse and valorise IP at EU level. Offering a broad range of informative material, a Helpline service for direct IP support as well as on-site and online training, the European IPR Helpdesk's main goal is to support IP capacity building along the full scale of IP practices: from awareness to strategic use and successful exploitation. The service focuses on European SMEs, participants and candidates in EU-funded projects, and EU innovation stakeholders for an increased diffusion of IP into the EU innovation ecosystem.
