In the field of information technology and telecommunication, the Commission of the European Communities (DG XIII) calls for tenders for the extension of the European Procurement Handbook for Open Systems (EPHOS). Work will comprise technical authoring of texts covering new and extended technical areas and will also take in work modules covering EPHOS support aspects such as: The provision of an information and promotion service; provision of a computerized multilingual thesaurus and related translation service using electronic mail; provision of an automated document delivery service using electronic mail and automatic online indexed navigational capabilities to relieve required documentation. Organizations wishing to prepare the various component work modules which comprise the extension of EPHOS must show active participation in similar activities at Community and world levels. The present tender is complementary to that launched in June 1991 (OJ No C 145 of 4.6.1991) for the preparation of the second version of EPHOS.
