CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, is hosting an information service on a new EC coal and steel research programme. The Treaty establishing the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) expires on 23 July 2002. The European Commission will however manage a new research programme prolonging previous actions in these fields. The new CORDIS service offers access to funding opportunities for coal and steel research. It provides direct access to the legal information and guidelines as well as information pages covering events, latest developments and contact details. An information pack is also available on-line, including a programme presentation, research priorities, application forms and assistance contacts in the European Commission's Transport and Research DGs.
