The 'Korean scientific cooperation network with the European Research Area' (KORANET) project will issue a joint call on green technologies on 6 February 2012. The call is intended to bring together European and Korean researchers and scientists to do joint research on green technologies in order to foster green growth and sustainable development. Call sub-topics include: - reducing carbon footprints; - technologies for sustainable development; - renewable energies; - energy efficiency. Project consortia should consist of at least of one Korean and two European partners from two different European countries participating in the KORANET Joint Call (Austria, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey) or from other countries if they secure their own funding from other sources. KORANET seeks to deepen and strengthen science and technology cooperation between Korea and Europe. The project is funded under the Seventh EU Research Framework Programme (FP7) and runs until December 2012. Eleven partners from nine European countries and Korea form the KORANET consortium. The five work packages include analytical and foresight exercises, the development of a joint funding programme for European-Korean research activities, and the organisation of conferences and workshops.General information on the joint call is also available from the KORANET Joint Call Secretariat: celine.timmermans@cnrs-dir.fr To find out more about the project, please visit: http://www.koranet.eu/
