The European Commission has published its first ECSEL call for research and innovation actions. This new call comes under the Horizon 2020 specific pillar 'Industrial leadership'. ECSEL is a partnership between the private and the public sectors for advancing the state-of-the art in electronic components and systems. This is the first of two concurrent ECSEL calls in 2014, which focus on research and innovation actions. The call encompasses nine topics, each being divided into sub-chapters. Applicants can expect funding for key applications in smart mobility, society, energy, health and manufacturing, as well as for process and design technologies, cyber-physical systems and smart systems integration. Through ECSEL partnerships, the European Commission aims to enhance capacity, strengthen the competitiveness and growth of European companies and meet environmental and societal challenges. To see the official call announcements, please consult: Participant Portal
