The OPET Network initiative is funded by the Innovation Programme, which supports the dissemination and optimization of the results of research and technological development, and demonstration activities. The main objective of the initiative is to foster market penetration of successful new and innovative energy technologies, in particular, those related to technologies demonstrated through the non-nuclear energy programme (JOULE-THERMIE).

  • The Enterprise Directorate-General of the Commission, is responsible for overall management of the Network, including defining Network objectives and dealing with contractual and administrative issues.
  • The Energy Directorate-General has responsibility for technical coordination of the OPETactivities and ensuring their links with the JOULE-THERMIE programme.
