OPET Service The Basque Energy Board, ENTE VASCO DE LA ENERGÍA (EVE) was created by Decree No. 81/1982 on 5 April 1982, as a Public Limited Company and was established as a State Body governed by Private Law by Act 9/1982 on 24 November 1982. The company's main activity is the planning, co-ordination and monitoring of present and future State Sector activities in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country in the field of energy. Since its creation in 1982, EVE has been responsible for implementing the energy policy of the Basque Government. The ENTE VASCO DE LA ENERGÍA heads the EVE GROUP (GRUPO EVE), which is made up of CADEM, S.A., GAS DE EUSKADI, S.A., HIDROCARBUROS DE EUSKADI, S.A., NATURGAS, S.A. and a series of affiliated and investee companies. Activities carried out under Thermie Since 1989EVE began its activities in the THERMIE Programme, former Demonstration Energy Programme, in 1986 and today the firm has been involved in 7 THERMIE projects type A. In 1991, EVE was selected to participate as a member of the Organization for the Promotion of Energy Technologies (OPET) network under the THERMIE programme of DG XVII. As OPET the EVE has carried out various activities in different energy areas as Rational Use of Energy (RUE), Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and Hydrocarbons (HC). Some of these activities, over 60, have been developed in the European Union, Central&Eastern Europe and Latin America. A list is given below of seminars, trade fairs, exhibitions, studies and publications which EVE has participated in or organised jointly with other international bodies in the last two years.
