The PAXIS Manual for Innovation Policy Makers and Practitioners : Analysis and transfer of innovation tools, methodologies and policy Brussels, 31 January 2006 --- |
|
| |
Prefaced by Gunther Verheugen, this manual describes the main good practices identified by PAXIS in the areas of policy design, pre-seed and early-stage financing; incubation; technology transfer and spin-offs; promotion of an entrepreneurial and innovation culture and political awareness.
The practices originate from very different regions, but all aim at helping new companies through the practical difficulties they face during their creation and early growth periods. Over the past five years, some 1400 contributors identified and analysed over 300 methodologies and good practices. Some 115 of of these practices have been or are in the process of being transferred to one or more partner and non-partner regions. Eager to share their key results with the policymakers and practitioners concerned with improving the innovation performance of their regions, PAXIS has selected and published 65 of these good practices in an easy-to-consult Manual.
The PAXIS Manual will be officially presented at the event entitled "European Innovation at its Best: Five Years of Learning, Co-operation and Experience with Innovation Policy", which will take place on 21 March 2006 at 18:30 at the Representation of the State of Baden-Württemberg to the European Union (Rue Belliard 60-62, 1040 Brussels). Hosted by the representation of Baden-Württemberg, the conference is supported by the European Commission and the Brussels representations of the 22 PAXIS Regions of Excellence :
