CORDIS Express - Your Weekly Briefing on European Research and Innovation

Access to the latest and most topical European research and innovation information will become faster and easier with the launch of the new electronic CORDIS Express digest. Every Friday, starting with a first pilot issue on 23 August 2002, the service will select, summarise and put into context key developments reported and provided by CORDIS, the European Commission's research and development information service on the Web.

Through a single attractive and easy to navigate web page, CORDIS Express will bring you every week (at cordis.europa.eu/express) key updates with direct links to new content on CORDIS - a service of over 30 000 web-pages and tens of databases on EU-funded and national research, making it the central resource for both researchers and entrepreneurs across Europe.

Countdown to the Launch of the New 17 5 billion Euro EU Research Programme

CORDIS is the official information service for participation in the EU's Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) (2002-2006). In the run up to its launch, the new CORDIS Express digest will select the most important headline news and provide introductory guides to detailed FP6 information and documentation as it becomes available week by week. A selection of top events and highlights of potential project partners will give you a taste of how FP6 will impact at the micro level. Two other sections, selecting content from over 50,000 EU-funded projects and research results, will offer a weekly snapshot of research and innovation activity on the ground.

Update on entrepreneurial activities and policies in Europe

In the first issue and as part of its regular "Focus on Innovation" section CORDIS Express will highlight the relationship between corporation tax and innovation analysed in a European Commission study published on the CORDIS Innovation Policy Studies Service. In addition, the section "Around Europe" will focus on the national and regional policy level - a vital perspective for research, innovation and competitiveness.

CORDIS Express will be free and available in English with links to content in five European languages: English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. After the official launch of the service in late September 2002, users will be able to receive CORDIS Express by e-mail if they register at cordis.europa.eu/express.
