To contribute to the operation and exploitation of the high flux reactor (HFR) and to the planning, execution and supervision of experiments for the benefit of the programmes of the participating Member States.
AbstractThis supplementary programme on the operation of the high flux reactor (HFR) formed part of the 1984-87 research programme to be implemented by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) for the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom) and for the European Economic Community (EEC). The HFR programme is one of the principal means by which the European Atomic Energy Community can contribute to the safe use of nuclear energy and to the acquisition and dissemination of information in this field.
Located at Petten, the Netherlands, the HFR is operated by the Commission in accordance with the Euratom/Netherlands agreement of 25 July 1961. Under this agreement, the Commission has committed itself, on behalf of the Community, to build the necessary facilities and to provide additional equipment in order to make optimum use of the Petten facilities, including the HFR.
