Objective
KiiCS – Knowledge Incubation in Innovation and Creation for Science – stems from the belief that territoriality nourishes creativity and that local strengths and assets in relation to innovation and creativity should be mobilized to strengthen interactions potential across sectors and disciplines. The aim is to break silos between disciplines and business sectors. KiiCS is a project to experiment and promote incubation actions between artists, creators, scientists, creative and technology businesses and young adults across 13 countries through creative European collaboration processes.
To achieve its objective KiiCS will:
-Establish 9 incubation modules across Europe using local strengths and infrastructures at city/local level to stimulate the innovation potential of the science, technology and creative sectors through specific interactions with a view to generate innovative ideas and projects.
-Develop 6 transnational joint actions amongst science centers and creative brokers for the young adults to experiment innovation processes through interaction between science and the creative sectors..
The main outputs of the project will be 18 innovative ideas/projects brought forward to the business sector. They will compete for a European KiiCS Award. Similarly, 6 ideas produced by young adults through transnational incubation processes will be subject to the European KiiCS Youth Award.
KiiCS will also develop an Incubation Kit and propose training workshops for key stakeholders likely to develop similar initiatives and to establish good practices in interactions between science and the creative sector.
