"The physics program of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN will help us answer some of the most fundamental unresolved questions in physics. Any verification of present knowledge or solid proof of new physics will only come after copious efforts of comparing experimental data against accurate theoretical predictions. For most of the processes at the LHC, calculating perturbative corrections in quantum field theory at the next-to-leading order (NLO) is sufficient whereas for some processes next-to-next-to-leading order theoretical predictions (NNLO) are needed, a highly non trivial theoretical task. We propose to apply a novel technique, the Duality Relation between loop Feynman integrals and phase-space integrals, to the study of W pair + jet production to NNLO at the LHC, an important process and currently beyond the state-of-the-art. Secondly, we propose to create a public library with the results of all the two-loop Feynman integrals necessary for some of the most important LHC processes that are needed to NNLO. Our two objectives are complementary and we expect that they will help towards the development of new NNLO partonic Monte Carlo event generators in our field. If the Duality Relation approach to phenomenological studies proves to be an optimal choice, as we believe, we will manage to succeed in having a unified treatment of the real and virtual radiation amplitudes paving the path towards the systematization of the LHC phenomenology to NNLO."
