Objective
"The Researchers' Night 2012 in Bosnia and Herzegovina – RNBL’12, will take place in Banja Luka, and aims to enhance public recognition of researchers and their work by bringing research closer to general public and promoting research careers in BiH. Specifically, the RNBL’12 will (i) design and deliver promotion campaign and RNBL’12 event to transfer message “Magic is Science” to people within Banja Luka region and at BiH at large; (ii) promote research carriers and scientific collaboration in BiH, cross-border regions and ERA; and (iii) showcase research and innovation impact on people’s daily lives. People in BiH will be given an opportunity to meet with local and international researchers and get acquainted with their activities in an informal and lively manner. An intensive awareness campaign will precede the event, as to mobilise the largest possible audience and make aware of the Researchers 'night and its purposes the largest possible part of the population.
To reach the defined objectives, a workplan of four work packages (WP1: Awareness campaign; WP2: Activities during the night; WP3: Impact assessment; WP4: Management) with clearly defined and interlinked tasks has been designed. The RNBL’12 is designed as 6 month project which will request of total 17 person months effort to carefully design and implement science promotion activities while bringing over the main message “Magic is Science” and complementary messages “science makes a difference”, “science is fun”. A lot of activities will be offered at four event venues, varying from presentations, demonstrations, interviews, hands-on experiments, quizzes, games, etc – all organised in an interactive way and allowing a direct contact between researchers and participants. Some purely festive activities are also planned. Awareness raising and RNBL’12 preparatory activities will be undertaken 5 months before Researchers’ Night with additional 1 month to analyse impact assessment."
