Objective
"""II Researcher in real life"" is directly related to two main ideas: Researchers are common people, and research is a link to a better understanding of daily topics. We want to wake up people to a fresh view of research through people who make is real.
Esciencia Science Events, which will coordinate this project, will use all tools of success of the first edition. Esciencia is a SME which born a spin off of University of Zaragoza, and nowadays coordinates similar events. We are aim to Science Communication in innovative ways. Our team is composed of Graduates in different areas of Science and expertises in Communication.
This proposal is based in our experience through the last 6 years working for the public at large, with relevant projects in our country and fundamentally in our experience in the coordination of first edition of this project. We create new approaches to the public from Researchers Institutions and placing researchers as main role. In this case, we have the support of the University of Zaragoza, ARAID Foundation and CSIC, these are three relevant institutions related to research and the popularization of science in Aragon.
Aragon has a population of 2.000.000 inhabitants, with 700.000 living in Zaragoza, it is capital city. The economy is agriculture-based and is weak industrialized. So, Research and Innovation must play an important role in our closest future. There are strong investment programs from local stakeholders to promote research through industry and through Research Institutions; in spite of this there is much to be done in this way. Nowadays the researchers are a distant figure that we want to get closer with the society through this proposal.
This project is the culmination of a higher dimension project to be held the week before the Researchers' Night, which will collect a full program of activities with a common theme, research is something for everyone. Based on the results of last year we hope concentrate about 12.000 visitors"
