Objective
"Abstract
The aim of the Researchers’ Night 2012 project in Serbia is to enhance public recognition of researchers and show that they are ordinary people with an extraordinary job. The AWARE III project is conceptually and strategically based on topics underlined and emphasized by the Horizon 2020 (EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation) and organised in 5+1 corners: Energy, Innovations and Ideas, Food and Water, Health and Safety, Environmentally Aware, and European corner. Each of the corner programmes will make a balanced combination of science-linked activities (demonstrations, simulations, hands-on experiments) and festive ones (games, sport, quizzes, competitions and music), while the European corner will be the all corners common integrator.
Serbian Researchers’ Night 2012 – All We Are REsearchers (AWARE) III will be the crowning event culminating the very first five-day science week in Serbia. Researchers’ Night 2012 will cover an area with approximately 4 million people, half of the population in Serbia, with key points in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Zrenjanin and Subotica. The project is directly targeted at 50.000 on-site visitors in these cities, but the awareness raising campaign is aimed at more than 1.500.000 people in the same area. Common theme mirrored in the same organisational structure and topics (Horizon 2020, 5+1 corner), real time competition between the cities in producing clean energy, video link between cites, simultaneous video conference with CERN, and live TV program will secure a truly national character and visibility of the event."
