Low Temperature and Lean Volume Cleaning System –<br/>Demonstrating the Project Results

Objective

LOWTEV will bring considerable water savings to the food processing industry which is comprised of over 300,000 SME organisations. With an excellent consortium including experts in the fields of food processing and ultrasound sanitisation we will demonstrate our ultrasonic Clean In Place (CIP) technology for use in the food processing environment. Our technology was developed during the FP7 R4SME Project LOWTEV (Grant agreement no. 222078) and has shown
 60% savings in cleaning water consumption
 30% savings in energy consumption
 20% increase in productivity
during proof of concept trials in the laboratory. Using our LOWTEV CIP technology on bulk handling and conveyance equipment for food processors, a factory site would benefit from 60-80% savings in cleaning water consumption and at least a 10% savings in overall water use. This equates to an estimated €30,000 worth of savings on water and energy bills per factory per annum, providing a return on investment in 1-2 years of installation.
